The Best of madmind 2009

by Gunther Heinrich, 30 Dec 2009 in General Things The Movie & Me

The end of the year is near and soon we have fewer years left until a meteor, alien invasion, malfunctioning earth core, solar eruption or George W. Bush completely destroys humanity in the year 2012.

But don’t think I’d let me (and you) off the hook so easily – until our fated doom I serve you blog posts with a smyle and a heart, even if it’s only list posts to review the past…

Therefore here are the best blog posts of madmind of this year in no particular order. Thank you for your support albeit how small it may be.

Let’s get started!

I hate movies. Of course not always, but sometimes. It happens when the producer seemed to be blind, the scriptwriter too stupid to find the delete key and me too stupid to simply walk out of the movie theater.

While I could slap me on the face each time anew when I sat through a bad movie it also gives me the chance to let my anger out as a means of a therapy and write it down in a list for your reading pleasure. So, I hereby present you the single worst movies I ever had to watch.

It’s the Best of the Worst, the Cream of the Crap!

There was something…

Ok. Yesterday and today was full of non-3D-short related work. In fact it as so much that I almost forgot to check my inner compass and The List to select an appropriate title.

In a way this is bad because the sooner I finally finish this task I finally can start to name everything on this blog accordingly and spread the word of mouth. Well, last but not least I finally can write “*insert title here*” instead of “3D short movie project”.

This situation is really starting to be a pain in the neck. It is a situation in which I could do something yet at the same time can’t because I decided to do it this way (title first, everything else afterwards). Yet I am also glad to go this way.

The one with the list

Although you might not believe me when I say/write this now, but I have constantly been thinking about a possible title for my upcoming 3D animated short movie. Besides the “awesome” amount of other work I had to do I thought about possibilities and found (n)one. Perhaps you once had a similar problem, like naming your child (dude, that one is hard) or are about “meet” this problem very soon.

When you are a genius you of course immediately find the Awesome Title or Name you were searching for (and your child won’t curse you for). If you are not, you most likely will have to rely on a list with ideas you write down as they fly through your head. If you are good, all titles you come up with

What makes a good title?

The weeks have passed. True. True. And I still have no title for my 3D short movie I could present you.

Well, frankly spoken, it is not that bad. In other words: I might have a title, but as in the past I still want to wait some time to be truly confident.

Some might think this is too much but I believe a title of something is its essence. A title most of the time is also something with which many people learn about a new movie or short – or any other product in that matter. But what makes a goood title?

I have thought about it during the weeks and I came up with a really short list – which nevertheless makes the task of naming extremely hard:

A title needs
