From Alien to X-Men: The Ranking

Well, after my last analysis of the gross revenues of 32 franchises and trilogies I wanted to write a completely different post again. But while I was redesigning my blog to be even more minimalistic my mind started to wander which finally resulted in this one nagging question: which franchise / trilogy made the most money with its (first) three movies?

Of course, I couldn’t let this one be unanswered.

Sometimes it is amazing what you can experience in a movie theater.

Many times I remember more that happened besides the movie than the movie itself. In fact this happens most of the time (which is no good sign for the industry). The whole experience of an evening you spend with your friends in a building constructed solely for that purpose is something you never can truly recreate in your home.

And besides the whole atmosphere there are sometimes moments which are simply crazily funny. It’s like watching THE TOWERING INFERNO in a skyscraper at night – alone.

For almost six years I go to a movie theater at least once in a week. But I do not go to movies I know of. That is boring. With at least 10 friends I attend Sneak Previews which not only give me the chance to watch bad movies and movies I never thought I would. They also give me the chance to experience sometimes truly crazy and unusual happenings a normal movie goer might never see.
