This is the first 3D head I ever completed. In the weeks and months before that I tried to work on some other heads. But it was just after coming across Polygons in conjunction with Subdivision Surfaces that I realized that NURBS were not my thing. After many hours I came up with this image below. Because I had no clue about good lightning at that time I used the most simple method avaliable: Final Gathering. I placed a High Dynamic Range image around the scene and was happy. Well mostly, because I couldn’t resist to do some basic post production in Photoshop.
